What you buy from me has been made by me in my kitchen on my Aga, in small batches. It is the same as I make for my family, and uses recipes handed down by my mother.
I use home-grown or local produce where possible. Most of my ingredients come from my garden, friends’ gardens and allotments or local farms. If I have to buy ingredients I can’t source locally, such as lemons and clementines, they come straight off the boat in the UK’s largest fruit-importing port.
I use no additives of any kind – good traditional preserving doesn’t need them.
All the sugar I use is Fair Trade – what I can’t source locally should be supportive of small producers in poorer countries.
All our products are suitable for vegetarians, and all except the Lemon Curd, Pickled Eggs and Piccallilli are suitable for Vegans.
